Luc Dondeyne - Darkling (2009)
Luc Dondeyne has both feet planted firmly in daily reality, a quality that shows in his paintings: they seem to have an immediately recognizable quality. But appearances can be deceptive; there always seems to be something wrong with the trivial details upon which most of his paintings are based… a vague feeling that has bothered most of us at some point, namely alienation. There is more going on in our daily reality than can be seen at first glance, though we are unable to put a finger on it…
